Dr. M V Shetty College of Nursing was started in the year 1987 which is the first ever private nursing college in Karnataka. College Celebrated silver jubilee in the year 2012 and Tri-decennial celebration in the year 2017. The course prepares its graduates to become exemplary citizen by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct at all times in fulfilling personal, social and professional obligations so as to respond to national aspirations.

About Course

The course prepares graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives at basic level in providing promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor, and manager in clinical/ public health settings.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:

The candidate seeking admission must:

Hold a diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)
Be a registered nurse
Have passed pre university examination in arts/science/commerce conducted by Department of Pre University Education, Karnataka State or its equivalent recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore
Have working knowledge of English
Be medically fit
Have good personal and professional record.

Age requirement :

No candidate who is above 48 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission shall be eligible for the course.

Character/conduct certificate issued by the College last studied.
Migration certificate issued by the University/Board other than Karnataka State.
Eligibility Certificate from RGUHS Bangalore other than Karnataka State.
Physical fitness/Medical certificate.
Passport size photograph- 10 Nos.
For students from Nepal: Provisional Pass Certificate or Degree certificate issued by the University/Board, Nepalese citizenship certificate, Date of birth in Indian Almanac (A.D.) and Equivalence certificate
